MSUB Jazz Festival 2018 Tickets

Tickets will not be mailed to you, but will be available at the Front Desk the evening of the Concert.  Doors open at 6:15 pm.

 

On January 26, 2018 the MSUB Jazz Festival will take place.  High School, College, and Junior High ensembles will perform, as well as attend master classes in improvisation, instrumental clinics, and be adjudicated by professional musicians and educators passionate about nurturing young talent.

Alex Iles

is an exceptional jazz trombonist, educator, and is also the top call session player in the Los Angeles TV and movie recording scene. You have all heard him in movies and TV shows (The Incredibles, Spiderman I and II, Pirates of the Carribean, Seinfeld, Polar Express, Planet of the Apes, etc). He has a long and spectacular history in the world of jazz, including lead trombone with Maynard Ferguson and Woody Herman, Henry Mancini, Gordon Goodwin, Harry Connick Jr., and many more. Bob Bowman is a brilliant bassist who resides part time in Montana, so maybe you have heard him play. Bob spent many years with Thad Jones and Mel Lewis (with whom he earned a Grammy), Freddie Hubbard, Bud Shank, Frank Mantooth, Toshiko Akiyoshi and more. If you have heard him play, to say he commands the room from the bass is an understatement! Bob loves to work with students and musicians alike, sharing his anecdotes and musical ideas and we are lucky to have him in the state! His website is http://bobbowman-lownote.com/.

Scott Jeppesen, our newest faculty member at MSU Billings, will also be a clinician. Scott spent many years in Los Angeles as a jazz musician, multi-instrumentalist and composer and we are indeed lucky to have him. With a Doctorate from University of Southern California, Scott has performed with a slew of all-stars, including; Maria Schneider, Bobby McFerrin, Burt Bacharach, Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson, Artie Shaw, Bob Mintzer, Dave Brubeck, Natalie Cole, Louis Bellson, Al Jarreau, Steve Miller, Randy Brecker and moref. www.scottjeppesen.com.

Cancellations, Transfers, and Refunds

In the event that a course at MSUB Extended Campus does not meet the minimum number of participants, it will be canceled and participants will be called at least 5 (five) days prior to the start of the course. In the event a course is canceled, a full refund will be given or the fee can be transferred to pay for a different course.

 

If you must cancel your registration, you will receive a full refund if it is canceled 5 (five) business days prior to the start date of the program or course. After this date there will be no refunds.  Cancellations can be emailed by using the email address ecinfo@msubillings.edu or by calling (406) 896-5890.

 

Please note there are three different ways to register for a course through Extended Campus:  using our online system, calling us over the phone and giving us your credit card, or by coming in person to pay (by credit card or check).  If you must cancel your registration or if we must cancel a course, your refund will be issued directly back on your credit card ONLY if you paid by credit card using our online registration system.  If you call or come into our office to pay using a credit card or by check, we must issue a refund through the State of Montana which requires a completed W9 form (and you must provide your social security number).  Please keep this in mind when registering for courses.  If you have questions or problems using our online system, please contact us at either 406-896-5890 or ecinfo@msubillings.edu and we can help you.
