When most Americans think of lager beer they picture the mass-produced lagers you can pick up at any grocery store. These macro-lagers are low cost and low on flavor, weak imitations of the European lagers that inspired them. Hand crafted lagers are seeing a resurgence and share a lot more in common with their European cousins with crisp, clean, malty flavors. Great lagers take time and skill to produce and are the epitome of the brewer's art.
