This professional development will focus on dyslexia and the instructional supports for meeting student needs. Assistive Technology will be explored as instructional supports. Further, teachers will be provided with information and techniques to support full MTSS collaboration between school, parent, and student.


Course Objectives


1. To provide a research-based background on the identification of dyslexia, including the phases of dyslexia.


2. To provide instructional strategies appropriate for children with dyslexia.


3. To empower teachers to speak to parents about dyslexia, including appropriate supports, accommodations, and curriculum modifications.


4. To introduce teachers to available assistive technologies.
